Sticking wallpaper is a fun way to add a new look to your walls without the hassle of traditional wallpaper. It’s also an excellent option for staging your home when it’s on the market or for freshening up model homes and apartment buildings.

There are a few things you need to know to help your peel and stick wallpaper hang perfectly. The first is to prepare your walls properly for the paper to adhere to them. This means cleaning the wall and wiping down any dust or dirt with a damp cloth.
If your walls are particularly rough, you may want to use a compound paste and sand the surface down before hanging your wallpaper. This helps the adhesive to stick better and prevents air bubbles or blisters from forming.
Once you’ve prepped your walls, measure the area where you’ll be applying the wallpaper. Align the wallpaper and then peel off the backing to apply it to the wall, smoothing any bubbles that might form with a plastic smoothing tool.
Don’t Follow the Ceiling: It’s tempting to line up the top of your wallpaper along the ceiling, but that doesn’t always work. It’s best to use a level to create a vertical guideline, and align the wallpaper against it.
Save the Scraps: You’ll likely end up with a bunch of scraps that you trimmed off the bottom and top of each strip, and it’s best to keep them until you’re done. This way, they’re ready to cover any gaps that might happen later on in your project.
